As the Midsouth’s only female urologist working with adults, Dr. Rowena DeSousa offers her patients a unique perspective. Care for women by women makes extremely sensitive issues like incontinence, leakage of urine, and urinary tract infections (UTIs) much less intimidating to discuss.

Dr. DeSousa is especially interested in the unique set of issues that arise for women who have had children. We therefore offer a multitude of pelvic floor treatment options, including minimally invasive robotic reconstruction of the pelvic floor to address neuromuscular issues with this important area, including issues with prolapse and incontinence.

Dr. DeSousa is an expert urologist, but also understands the importance of comprehensive health. She has built a network of female providers across the Midsouth to tend to the sensitive and important concerns of her patients. We work in concert with  trusted local gynecologists to offer comprehensive care. Our team can therefore advise women with kidney, uraters, and bladder, and colorectal concerns on where to go. We also have great relationships with pelvic floor therapy groups in town to continue care beyond the office visit.
